Décoloniser les corps – Decolonisation of the body.

Art nOmad is a contemporary art biennial founded in France by Clorinde Coranotto that moves nomadically from place to place. She created an art centre without walls in a custom-made truck, where exhibitions are presented and discourses are stimulated in public space by means of workshops and actions.

This year’s art nOmad is curated by the artist Pascal Lièvre. Under the theme “Decolonisation of the Body”, the participating artists will explore the repressive norms of gender, sex or race. During the trip, artists, theorists and activists can develop new concepts or works on site together with galleries and art associations.

From Bourges via Fort D’Aubervilliers, Calais and Brussels, the art nOmad truck will arrive in Berlin on 17 October and open its doors in front of Galerie Nord from 2 to 6 pm. From 7 pm it will then move on to the project space Kurt-Kurt, where performance artist and queer activist Kay Garnellen will present his artistic practice.

Participating artists:
Giulia Andreani, Laura Bottereau and Marine Fiquet, Halida Boughriet, Edi Dubien, Claude Cattelain, Esther Ferrer, Kay Garnellen, Pélagie Gbaguidi, Katia Kameli, Kubra Kadhemi, Mehdi-Georges Lalou, Roberta Marrero, Myriam Mechita, Myriam Mihindou, Pauline N’Gouala, Françoise Pétrovitch, Abel Techer, Nicole Tran Ba Vang, Floryan Varennes, Etaïnn Zwer and Claire Finch.

This project is a cooperation between art nOmad, Galerie Nord | Kunstverein Tiergarten and the project space Kurt-Kurt.

art nOmad is supported by:
Ministère de la Culture, Institut Français, Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Département Haute-Vienne, École nationale supérieure d’art de Limoges.
