With the two-year programme VOICE:over (2022/23), Galerie Nord | Kunstverein Tiergarten presented a variety of phenomena related to the voice. With interdisciplinary exhibition projects, performances and a diverse mediation programme, VOICE:over explored the changing significance of the human voice in its physical and social form – from screams to speech and singing to the posthuman and independent imitation of artificial intelligences.

This richly illustrated publication VOICE:over brings together and documents the diverse artistic projects and four additional text contributions by curators and authors such as Inke Arns, Eva Bentcheva, Anjelina de Dios, Janina Klassen, Marta Smolińska, Veronika Witte and mêLe yamomo.
In this publication, the illustrated and written voices from the visual arts, music, performance and theory allow the context-dependent and culturally influenced hearing, the political voice, singing and speaking in all their facets as well as the fascination of speaking automatons and the uncanniness of artificial voices to enter the room.

The graphics for the entire programme series and this exceptionally designed book were created by Michael Rudolph / Milchhof Design.
