Simone Zaugg (*1968, Bern) lives and works in Berlin and Bern. She studied art and education at the University of Bern and the Bern School of Design as well as film and visual communication at the Gesamthochschule Kassel. She has received numerous scholarships and prizes, including the Neustart Kultur Scholarship, the Kunstfonds Foundation Working Scholarship, the Rome Scholarship at the Istituto Svizzero and the Kiefer-Hablitzel Prize. Her context- and situation-specific works in public spaces have been internationally displayed in solo and group exhibitions at venues including Kunsthalle Bern, Kunsthaus Wiesbaden, Dortmunder Kunstverein and most recently Kunstraum volume, Bern.
Pfelder (* 1965, Hamburg) lives and works in Berlin. He studied classical archaeology and communication design in Hamburg and fine arts in Dresden. He has been represented internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Kunsthaus Interlaken, Switzerland; National Museum, Oslo; Gwangju Biennale, South Korea and Kunst am Bau at the Grundschule von der Pfordten Straße, Munich. He has received several scholarships, including the Berlin Senate Research Scholarship and the Neustart Culture Scholarship.
Simone Zaugg and Pfelder have been producing and curating international art projects for more than twenty-five years, which deal explicitly with urban and landscape environments, the public sphere and public space.
