1303 artists and 890 additional contributors

With the anniversary project RE:VISION, the Kunstverein Tiergarten is celebrating 20 years of successful collaboration with international artists from a vast variety of disciplines.

All of the 1303 artists who have exhibited at Galerie Nord | Kunstverein Tiergarten over the past 20 years have been invited to present one of their works in a limited publication. The entire edition of the book will become part of a room-book installation developed by Berlin-based artist Marten Schech in Galerie Nord. The installation will be co-curated by the audience by (re)turning the pages as well as by the artists: All represented artists are invited to exchange a book in the exhibition for an original artistic work on loan. Traditional curatorial hierarchies and conventional processes will be flipped over: the book-space-installation will continue to evolve in a participatory and curatorially uncontrollable way until, by its conclusion, the exhibition will have taken on an entirely new appearance, culminating in an anniversary party at the end of the exhibition.

This anniversary project is a thank you to all those who have worked in front of and behind the scenes of Galerie Nord, who have supported and financed projects, showed commitment, spared no time nor effort, have campaigned in multifarious ways for the preservation of Kunstverein Tiergarten, and thus contributed to its radiance.

Performances, concerts, guided tours and a discussion on the relevance of art associations are planned for the duration of the exhibition.

RE:VISION is kindly supported by the Fund for Presentations of Contemporary Visual Arts and by the District Development Funds of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
