Sebastian Thies: nat-2™ Post Cov Sneaker

with Dana Giesecke (FuturZwei) and Carina Bischoff (Fashion Revolution)

Dana Gieseke and Carina Bischoff talk about the consequences of the fast fashion industry and the need for sustainable clothing consumption. What responsibility do fashion companies bear, but also we as consumers? And what innovative approaches can help to keep clothes in circulation for longer? The experts will shed light on alternative solutions such as the circular economy, second-hand models and new design strategies that conserve resources and promote social justice. Visitors can expect an inspiring discussion about sustainable fashion practices and concrete options for action for a fairer textile industry.

Carina Bischoff is an expert in sustainable fashion and a founding member of Fashion Revolution Germany. She has been campaigning for transparency, fair working conditions and a circular fashion industry for over 15 years. She advises companies, organisations and consumers on sustainable textile strategies and is a sought-after speaker in the industry. With her many years of experience in design, upcycling (co-founder of the first upcycling fashion store and the upcycling label aluc) and slow fashion, she promotes innovative solutions against fast fashion and is committed to more conscious clothing consumption.

Dana Giesecke is a sociologist and has been head of the FUTURZWEI. Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit and cultural correspondent for the magazine “taz.FUTURZWEI. Magazine for Future and Politics”. She also runs the casting and speaker agency Futuristas together with Sibylle von Samson-Himmelstjerna. She has been a lecturer in the Department of Design at FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences since 2021.

Both are members of the Recycling Design Award jury.
