The video screening “In between” goes into the third round with Ortstermin 20 and shines again this year deep into the Moabit nights. Nine short films by artists from all over Germany were selected from numerous valid submissions. Artistic extensions and delimitations of narrative perspective, camera work or editing techniques and the play with the media potential of social media and video clips were decisive for the jury’s selection.
The artists present a very heterogeneous panorama of the most diverse interpretations and cinematic approaches to this year’s festival theme “bis hierher und nicht weiter . this far and no further”. From the visual concentration on the written word to the ironic staging of a media icon, from the quiet poetry of a drawn line to the colourful time-lapse of an Italian tourist metropolis in quarantine, the short films form an entertaining series of cinematic highlights on current issues of the day.

About the series “In between”
Since 2018, single films or juried short film programmes have been projected in the windows of Galerie Nord after dusk between two exhibitions from September to March. This one-week, low-threshold presentation format literally occupies a physical and temporal in-between space and connects the content of the gallery programme with the urban life of Turmstraße.
