with Christiane Bühling-Schultz and Karin Rase

The cultural scientist Christiane Bühling-Schultz and the art historian Dr Karin Rase have been jointly realising exhibition projects in different formats under the label CundK since 2012 and ran a gallery in Berlin-Mitte from 2014 to 2020. They represent contemporary German and international artists who explore the boundaries of the classical media of painting, sculpture and drawing in an idiosyncratic way. Since 2020, they have once again been pursuing mediation paths for art projects without fixed gallery spaces.
Their fruitful collaboration with the artist Said Baalbaki began in 2006. They have both dedicated several gallery exhibitions to him and realised various projects with him, including Said Baalbaki’s participation in the AArtist in Residence programme on the roof of the Berlin Foreign Office in cooperation with the LVBG.
The first institutional solo exhibition “Yesterday as Today” at Galerie Nord on the occasion of Baalbaki’s 20-year stay in Berlin was initiated by Christiane Bühling-Schultz and Karin Rase. In a joint conversation with Baalbaki, they will guide us through the exhibition.
